Hello, all!

I thought I would just share an update on how Bailey is doing.

Bailey is growing up to be quite a handsome cat. I just realized recently that he doesn't always look like a kitten anymore...He turned 1 yo on June 8. He does have his days, however...where he still looks like the kitten we brought home.

Bailey is still as soft as ever, and his fur is growing like CRAZY!! He looks chubby...but, it is all because his fur is soooo long! LOL! If you put your finger and touch his belly, the fur goes way past your knuckle! He now enjoys being brushed; he no longer chases the brush around like he did when we first got him. I just LOVE Bailey's pink nose!! He is definitely a looker! LOL!

Recently, our daughter moved away to college...and, she was his nail trimmer (I'm afraid I will hurt him). So, we now take him to PetSmart to have his nails down. We took him for the first time last weekend, and I was surprised at how well he did! he was in the grooming room with three dogs; the groomer sat him on a table and attached him to a leash and this hook that is on the table, and snip, snip, snip! Bailey just sat there, all proud...even with those dogs in the room with him (one of which was HUGE!)! He was done before we knew it! Definitely worth the $ to have somebody take care of that for us! The car trip, however...isn't the most pleasant! He meows the entire time. Unfortunately, the PetSmart by our home doesn't have a licensed cat groomer, so we have to travel a little distance. Hopefully, the more trips we take the more he will get used to it.

Bailey still follows us around a majority of the day...and, he loves it when I'm making dinner. We have one of those tall, silver trash cans in our kitchen next to our bar/island...and, he sits on top of it watching me cook. He also loves it when we get water or ice out of the door in our fridge. We always "accidentally" let one piece of ice fall on the floor so he can play with it. He chases it around the room, and then squats and watches it melt.

One thing that is REALLY funny with Bailey is how he eats. For some reason, he likes to eat with his paws...I would say 50% of the time! It is so funny watching him! Also, he just loves playing with water...so, we found this wonderful water bowl that sits in a "frame" so he can no longer dump it over or lie in it. We definitely can't use the water fountain we have because he used it as a swimming pool and/or he would stick his paws up the spout, etc.

We like to think Bailey is like a squeaky toy. He talks to us with little squeaks and "quirgles"...and, when he jumps down from a chair, etc...he sounds like a squeaky hammer! LOL!

Recently, we submitted Bailey in a contest with dfw.com. Bailey won the "Phattest" cat award. No prize...just bragging rights! You can see his entry on their website...or, pick up the magazine all over town (the pic they chose is the last one I posted below)!

Here are a couple of the latest pictures of Bailey! As you can see, he is getting quite big! He was so light when we got him, now he is actually heavy when we hold him (he loves it when I hold and carry him). Bailey just LOVES it when I cradle him like a baby and scratch his belly...but, now that he is getting so big, it is hard to do!! But, I keep trying...and, he keeps enjoying it!

Well, here are a few pics:

Again, thank you Classy Cats! Daxter Bailey Cooper has brought such love and joy into our home!! He has been a true blessing!
